Our vehicles
Off the Beaten Path Safaris is extremely proud of our safari vehicles. Each vehicle is meticulously cleaned daily during safari and undergoes a professional inspection following each safari to ensure that everything is maintained in top working order.
- We currently own and operate a fleet ofToyota Land Cruisers – we have both the traditional closed vehicles and well as state of the art open vehicles. We are avaialable for private, individual hire but we also have the capacity to host larger groups of up to 10 vehicles easily.
- We own 1 Mini Bus for comfortable airport transfers as well as longer distance transfers throughout Tanzania with luxury seating and equipped with a mini-fridge.
- All vehicles have V8 engines, for added horsepower in the rough terrain.
- We only use the best mud-terrain tires on all of our vehicles.
- All vehicles have an extended cab, allowing for extra leg room for our clients compared to most other cars that you see on safari.
- Our vehicles are painted in a neutral color, which blends nicely with the environment.
- Our vehicles are outfitted for normal safaris, but can easily be adapted for photographic safaris wherein the top and windows can be completely removed, a row of seats and doors removed to improve vantage points when taking photos. Sandbags to superior camera stabilization will be provided.
- Our vehicles can be adjusted to be handicap accessible with a ramp and seats removed for wheelchair access.
- We can accommodate anywhere from 1 to 7 customers per vehicle. We often find 3-4 clients per car optimal as this allows each client to have their own row of seats to easily view from both sides of the car (the 4th client could sit up front with the driver)
- Pop-up tops for viewing while standing with 360 degree views, even on our open vehicle!
- Large windows that either roll down completely, slide open or can be detached altogether to maximize game viewing and photography.
- Air conditioned and radio with USB drive for requested music if desired
- Charging stations for all electronic devices during safari
- Mini-bar refrigerator
- First aid kit, insect repellent and whiskers for bugs
- 2 pair of binoculars in each car
- Wildlife identification books and a map book of the National Parks in each car
- Animal checklists for children
- Two-way radio for communication between vehicles and with other guides, WiFi capable in emergencies
- Folding table and chairs for picnic meals in the bush. Custom made table for buffet or drink service during safari
- Maasai blankets for warmth on cooler days
